Welcome to School-Home Support’s Professional Development opportunities – available to you across the Spring and Summer term. The workshops will address many current issues faced by both professionals and families in need. We have enlisted some of the most dynamic and notable facilitators and organisations, and hope you can make the most of these opportunities.

Safeguarding and Risk Assessment  (delivered by SHS)

In this essential workshop, we will look in detail at safeguarding and child protection. Exploring categories signs symptoms and your responsibilities. The afternoon will focus on risk assessment and SHS policy with an exploration of a recent Serious Case Review and the lessons learnt for future practice.

Improving Attendance (delivered by SHS)

In this essential workshop, which will be delivered by a specialist SHS Practitioner, we will look at the importance of attendance with strategies for increasing attendance and how to work with families to encourage the importance of getting children in school, ready to learn.

Economic Well-Being (delivered by SHS)

This half-day workshop explores the benefits available to parents and families both in and out of work. The introduction and impact of universal credit is explored as and financial literacy for families. The workshop aims to provide tools and strategies that practitioners can use with their families to increase their financial independence.

Mental Health Awareness (delivered by SHS)

This essential one day workshop will be an internal delivery from a specialist SHS Practitioner.The session will provide an introduction to signs, symptoms and strategies used to support young people with mental health conditions and their families.

Child Sexual Exploitation (delivered by SHS)

We’ll be looking at the signs symptoms and prevalence of CSE as well as best practice strategies for working with YP who may be at risk of or victims of CSE.
