Impact Report 2024/2025
Last year, we provided intensive support with attendance to 1,077 children and young people. In 2024/2025, 6 in 10 children (58%) improved their attendance by an average of 13%, equivalent to an extra 26 days in school. Overall, we gained 5,745 days of learning in 2024/2025.
What’s driving school absence?
Many of the parents and carers we support told us that work pressures (36%), money and housing worries (32%) and their own wellbeing (30%) are among the biggest challenges affecting family life.
For children, emotional wellbeing remains a major concern. Issues around feelings, behaviour, confidence and friendships continue to be the top challenges raised and 1 in 4 safeguarding alerts we made were linked to children’s mental health.
We also continue to work with families experiencing financial hardship: 74% of children we supported were eligible for Free School Meals, and 1,569 individuals received essential items such as uniforms and furniture through our Welfare and Uniform Fund, helping children and their families to be ready to attend school and learn.
