Children from one of our partner schools visited Liberum’s offices and took part in some live trades

Last week, children from one of our partner schools had the opportunity to attend Liberum’s offices and take part in a memorable aspiration session. These sessions are a chance for children to attend one of our corporate partner’s offices to learn more about the working world, and start to think about their own career aspirations.

The day started with a wellbeing session led by Place2Be, who are also one of Liberum’s charity partners. The session focused on ways to ensure good mental health, sharing ideas such as meditation, exercise and cooking. Liberum employees discussed how they like to relax after the working day or when feeling stressed.

After that, the children were given a tour of the offices, taking in the stunning panoramic views from the terrace. During the tour the children had the exciting opportunity to join the trading floor and place some live trades! The children placed bets on whether the FTSE 100 would go up or down by the end of the day, with chocolate prizes for the winners!

Then, we heard from a number of Liberum employees in different departments who spoke about their routes into employment, the skills they still use from school, and their favourite part of the job. It was an incredibly inspiring session with many of the children asking questions.

We were even lucky enough to catch the Liberum Choristers in concert before heading back up to the office for the cake judging competition. There was an incredible selection of sweet and savoury treats on offer, and the competition was tough!

The children left the day feeling inspired, excited and full. We are so lucky to have been able to offer the children we work with this opportunity.

Thank you Liberum & Place2Be for hosting an incredible aspiration session for one of our schools!
