Pupils from Years 3 to 6 took part in a Career ‘Fayre’ organised in partnership with our corporate volunteers from Ciklum

More than 240 pupils from Years 3 to 6 took part in a School-Home Support (SHS) career fayre this week, where three volunteers from Ciklum spent the afternoon answering questions about their jobs and career paths.

The session quickly became a lively exchange, with pupils asking a wide range of questions, from what a typical working day looks like to what skills are needed for different roles. With so many students involved, the volunteers faced a constant stream of enquiries throughout the morning.

School staff said the event gave pupils an opportunity to engage directly with professionals and begin to understand the variety of careers available to them. For many, it was their first experience of speaking to people working in the technology sector.

Volunteers from Ciklum shared their own career journeys, offering insight into how they entered their roles and the different routes they took along the way. They also responded to practical questions about education, skills, and workplace expectations.

The session was energetic, with pupils keen to take part and contribute. Teachers noted that even quieter students were encouraged to ask questions in the informal setting.

The school highlighted the importance of early exposure to careers education, particularly for younger pupils. Events like this, they said, help children build confidence, raise aspirations, and better understand the link between education and future opportunities.

Volunteers from Ciklum said:

Prashant: “Sharing my professional world with such inquisitive, bright, and resilient students was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Seeing their curiosity ignite at the prospect of a career in technology was incredibly moving. I left the school feeling more inspired by their potential than any boardroom meeting could ever achieve.”

Andy: “Really enjoyed the day, the children were extremely inquisitive and engaged in the session with lots of interesting questions about their future careers.”

Nazar: “It was a delight to team up with Andy and Prashant to represent Ciklum at the Eastbury Community School career day. The students asked some great questions from ‘Is AI going to take over?’ and ‘What inspires you?’ to ‘What is the hardest part about your job?’. It was hugely rewarding to see the ambition and curiosity from Years 3-6 and their genuine interest in a diverse, global company like Ciklum”

Janice*, School-Home Support Practitioner, said:

“It’s incredibly valuable to have School-Home Support working alongside us and supporting the wider school community. Opportunities like this help inspire and motivate pupils, showing them the many possibilities for their future.”

We are incredibly grateful for the time and energy Ciklum brought to the event. Your support helps us continue to grow meaningful careers education opportunities for our primary pupils.”

A huge thank you to our corporate partners Ciklum for supporting the Careers Fayre.
