Give the gift of education this Christmas

Christmas is the happiest time of the year for many, but for some, it can be a season filled with exacerbated issues; where cramped housing, poverty and unsupported mental health issues worsen. These are challenges families face all year round which can affect a child’s education, and will persist long after the tree has been taken down.

In our 40th anniversary year, the need for support with school attendance has never been higher. That’s why, this Christmas, you can give the gift of education. By supporting School-Home Support, you help our practitioners to work with families to break down barriers to education and give children the best possible start in life. There are lots of ways you can support our work over the festive period…

Give the gift of education and support a child back to school

This Christmas holiday season, you can help rebuild a child’s education for an entire school year. Christmas is a time for giving and you can help to transform the lives of the families and vulnerable children we work with.

It costs around £1000 to provide bespoke intensive support for a family for an entire year and help get a child back to school. This long-term support can change a family’s life – giving them someone (our practitioners) to turn to who will take the time to understand the challenges they are facing, and empower them to overcome them. A donation of £1000 could ensure a practitioner is there for a child who has lost a parent, or ensure a practitioner can support a victim of domestic abuse to find a safe home for them and their children. It can help to transform a life by removing the barriers to their education. £1000 can make all the difference.

Double the impact of your donation this Christmas

If you’d like to double your impact this Christmas, we’ll be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. The campaign will be open from 3 – 10 December and every £1 donated will be matched by our match funding champions, doubling your impact.

Together we can make Christmas that bit brighter, and help to solve the deep rooted reasons for absence in a lasting way. Will you join our sleigh? Keep a lookout for more information coming soon.

Christmas Jumper Day

The School-Home Support corporate fundraising team will be dusting off their Christmas jumpers early this year and bringing some Christmas magic to fundraising HQ! Join us on Tuesday 3 December when we officially launch the Christmas Challenge via the Big Give and ask your colleagues or employees to wear their Christmas jumpers in exchange for a donation to School-Home Support. Or pick a day in December where you encourage friends and colleagues to bring some festive cheer to your office and support a child this Christmas who needs our help.

Donations made via the Big Give will be matched from 3 – 10 December so your Christmas jumpers could double their impact!
