We provide a collection of services to support staff in schools and other settings who are responsible for (or involved in) providing family support. These include:
Individual and Group Supervision
Provides a dedicated space for reflecting on case work and developing better understanding and skills of professional practice. Supervision also allows staff the space to explore emotions brought up by their work and to receive case direction. Case work supervision is provided as part of the Practitioner Service and the above refers to our external supervision package which we highly recommend to all equivalent support staff directly employed by schools.
Our online learning provides a range of CPD and School-Home Support certified courses which are designed to support a range of professionals working with children, young people and families. CPD certified topics include: Work with Parents: The Essential Foundation Unit, Radicalisation, Welfare Reform and Effective Communication with Families.
In 2012 the Department for Education funded School-Home Support to develop training and support for school staff and volunteers in their work with vulnerable families. As part of the project we developed five toolkits, each of which provides six 90 minute training sessions.
We are currently developing our external training offer and details will be added to our website here in due course.
School-Home Support Membership has been developed to provide professional support to staff in schools across the country. Anyone can sign up, and it’s completely free. Members receive our email bulletins and join the online forum. The forum is an online platform where professionals can ask questions and share information with our practitioners and other professionals. It includes links to a wealth of resources, tips and information that will help professionals to support children and families. By becoming a member, you are eligible for discounted Pastoral Development Services discounts.
