Resources to support families in London over the holidays
News article from August 3, 2017
Many families struggle over the summer holidays. In addition to finding childcare and/or free activities to keep children busy, families who were previously receiving free school meals are left facing ‘holiday hunger’ as they are tasked with a greater pressure on their food budgets. Without something to keep them occupied, children will become bored and restless, sometimes resulting in more challenging behaviour for parents.
Kim Steward, our Schools Coordinator specialising in Economic Wellbeing, has put together a large selection of resources to support families in London over the holidays. The resources are limited to London as this is where the majority of our SHS practitioners are based, but for other areas, similar resources can be found by contacting local authorities.
