It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at School-Home Support!
News article from December 23, 2021
At School-Home Support, Santa Claus has already been to town in the form of our amazing corporate partners! We have once again been blown away by the generosity of our partners this festive period, with over 700 presents bought for the children we work with.
One of our wonderful Practitioners commented: “Now it feels like we’ve kicked off Christmas and there’s smiles and there’s excitement all around the school. Thank you so much to everyone who has ordered a gift for our families.”
While the festive period is the most wonderful time of the year for many, for the families we work with it can often be the most challenging of all. The winter months can bring about many financial strains and difficulty providing basic needs, and we know that many of the children we work with will sadly wake up without presents under the tree on Christmas morning. Which is why our practitioners work, where possible, to identify those children they support in this position and create a list for our corporate partners to choose relevant presents from.
Providing presents for children brings much needed Christmas cheer and we are delighted that alongside these gifts, we were able to provide food vouchers to some families.
Our Chief Executive, Jaine Stannard, said: “2021 has been a difficult year for so many people and has drawn a focus on the inequalities in society. More children than ever face a Christmas without gifts. We are so grateful to our corporate partners for enabling us to ensure that 700 children don’t have to wake up on Christmas morning without a present.”
