School-Home Support (SHS) selected as one of Weil’s five charity partners

The global firm’s London office has an ambitious five-year strategy to improve lives and raise aspirations. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Weil to ensure vulnerable children and young people have the support they need at home to succeed in school. Weil’s innovative approach to tackling disadvantage means we’re not working alone. The collaboration of five charity partners, Suited and Booted/Dress for Success, the Social Mobility Foundation,Glassdoor and Power2, along with SHS will bring added value to the children, young people and adults we all support.

Only weeks into the partnership and the charities are already talking about how we can collaborate and do even more to improve lives and raise aspirations. For example, an SHS Employment Skills Workshop at one of our local schools involves Weil volunteers supporting parents to create a CV they feel proud of. Once parents get a job interview, Suited and Booted (men) or Dress for Success (women) will help to style and dress the parents, so they feel confident and prepared with a professional outfit they can keep. Additionally, an SHS Aspiration Session – run for vulnerable young people by Weil volunteers – can include support from the Social Mobility Foundation around employment opportunities.

We are hugely excited about the opportunity this brings. The chance to work directly with Weil’s talent to raise aspirations amongst disadvantaged families and, through the catalyst of the partnership, to collaborate with other charities doing amazing work, will mean we can make an even bigger difference to the lives of vulnerable children and their families. I am really looking forward to getting to know new colleagues in the sector and working out what we can achieve together by sharing our expertise and knowledge

– Jaine Stannard CEO, School-Home Support.

Through the partnership, Weil is aiming to raise a £500,000 over the duration of the partnership through employee fundraising and corporate donations.  Their commitment to donate unrestricted funding to all charity partners is particularly appreciated. The partnership will enable all of us to make a big difference to the lives of individuals and families we support.

“We are thrilled to be supporting School Home Support as part of our five-year fundraising strategy ‘Improving Lives & Raising Aspirations’. Social mobility is integral to how we recruit and retain talent – working with SHS will enable us to further educate our employees about challenges that are pertinent to people living in poverty and from lower socio-economic backgrounds. We look forward to raising unrestricted income for the charity and providing pro bono, volunteering, and capacity-building support to help SHS grow and support even more people.”
