Dame Barbara Windsor to light up Marylebone - raising money for School-Home Support!
News article from October 24, 2017
We are delighted to announce that School-Home Support will be the beneficiary charity for the Marylebone Christmas Lights switch-on event this year, with the lights being switched on by a very special guest – Dame Barbara Windsor!
We’re so pleased that Dame Windsor has agreed to turn on the lights: she’s a national treasure who has brought joy to families for many years with her performances, and we’re proud to share an East End heritage with her.
Every year, Marylebone Village hosts a Christmas Lights event to celebrate the switch-on of its Christmas decorations. Organised by the Howard de Walden Estate, this is a fantastic community event packed with crowds coming to watch the switch on, the stage performances, take part in the various activities, shop and eat. The event is a true village affair with local retailers and residents working together.
Join us and do your Christmas shopping while raising money for money for School-Home Support!
The event will be taking place between 3pm and 7pm on Wednesday 15th November, and the main activity will be taking place at the north end of Marylebone High Street, Paddington Street and Devonshire Street.
