COMING SOON - City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Introduction to Safeguarding Young People from Harm, Abuse and Exploitation

News article from August 15, 2016

We are shortly launching a new City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Introduction to Safeguarding Young People from Harm, Abuse and Exploitation. This is a great way for schools and local authorities to make sure their staff have an accredited qualification.

The course will be essential training for anyone with responsibility for young people, whether working as a volunteer in a young people’s setting or working in a nursery, school or other local authority setting.

Government guidance is clear, “… Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility… All staff members should receive appropriate safeguarding and child protection training … to provide them with relevant skills and knowledge to safeguard children effectively” (source: “Keeping children safe in education, Statutory guidance for schools and colleges”  published May 2016 for guidance commencing 5 September 2016).

Child protection and safeguarding is a vital and potentially lifesaving duty of anyone who works with children. In taking our course, you can ensure that you understand your responsibilities for any children under your care, and feel confident in carrying out the appropriate actions should you have any concerns.
