Keeping vulnerable children safe is a priority for all of us, but we know school time and resources are tight. That’s why Maggie Mitchell (Head of Family Intervention) is offering a free safeguarding event (with lunch provided) that will only take two hours.
When: | Wednesday 21 or 28 November 2018 (please choose the day that suits you best) |
Time: | 12:00 – 14:00 |
Where: | Hardman Street, Manchester M3 3HF |
At School-Home Support, we have extensive experience protecting children from harm through safeguarding interventions. This expertise means that our training sessions are also highly effective for anyone working with young people. The session will focus on school children aged 5 and above, in order to complement and build upon local safeguarding events (which are focused on infants and very young children).
Maggie will be providing vital information and insight on Serious Case Reviews, one of which tragically ended in the death of a child, and will highlight expert recommendations for issues such as:
- A father with ongoing mental health issues
- A mother making allegations of domestic violence
- A distressed sibling witnessing the family breakdown and its fallout
- A school-employed parent-support advisor who demonstrated questionable practice and was inadequately supported
The session aims to enhance your knowledge, challenge your own practice, and ensure that you feel confident in dealing with safeguarding issues.
