Families go to visit LSEG for an aspiration dayLast Friday morning, School-Home Support (SHS) took two families to visit the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). The families taking part have been receiving intensive and long term support from SHS Practitioner, Sandra Taylor, and they were very excited about the visit. It was our first aspiration session with our partners at LSEG.

After getting past security, “It’s a bit like an airport”, we met staff from different parts of the business. Nine employees took time out of their busy morning to explain how the stock exchange works, what their jobs comprised of and what they most liked about working at LSEG.  The visit culminated with a tour of the building and a photo opportunity on ‘the ‘balcony, where new companies gather to watch their business join the market for the first time.

Staff at LSEG speak to children on the SHS tripYunnis, aged 15:

“I could see myself working there and having a really successful  career.  I enjoyed the bit where they [the staff] talked about how they got there and how when you don’t know what you want to do, it can lead to different  opportunities.  I really enjoyed today and I hope to come back again.”
