SEND Specialist Family Support Worker

Location: Outreach based working across a range of primary and secondary schools in Liverpool

Contract: Fixed-Term until March 2025

Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Monday to Friday

Salary: £23,007 – £25,969 per annum depending on experience (This is the actual salary)

We are looking for a SEND Family Support Worker to join our team and to make a difference in children’s lives every single day. As the SEND Family Support Worker, you will work in close partnership with schools to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

The practitioner will be working across a range of SEND schools in Liverpool supporting families.

You will have excellent relationship building and communications skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of agencies.

You’ll have previous experience of:

  • supporting people through the EHCPs process
  • working with SEND children and families
  • working and engaging with SEND parents, carers or guardians, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
  • working in an educational or outreach environment
  • working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn
  • working with families from diverse communities
