SHS Practitioner - Limes Farm School, Chigwell

School-Home Support is a dynamic charity with proven impact. For over 30 years it has been working with children and young people struggling to stay in school due to a wide range of complex family issues. We get children and young people back into school ready to learn, whatever it takes.

Through a mixture of growth and staff turnover we now require the following post across two schools:

School-Home Support Practitioner – Limes Farm School, Chigwell (21 hours per week over 5 mornings term-time only)

Starting salary: £12,344 per annum

This is a varied role and the post-holder will be based within a primary school. The post-holder will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework and other activities to promote educational outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. The post-holder will need to be persistent, resilient and tenacious along with having the experience of working with hard to engage parents.

This is an exciting opportunity and successful candidates will have good experience of working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn, strong abilities in engaging challenging children and their families, and a confident ability to form professional partnerships with children and their families along with experience of transition work.

The post-holder will work alongside key school staff in school to promote excellent attendance, reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality.
