Family Support Worker (fixed term)

Location: Tong Leadership Academy, Bradford, BD4

Hours: 5 days per week term time only, plus 4 weeks to be working during the holiday period- 35 hours per week.

Salary: £19,695 – £22,231 per annum inclusive

Closing date: Monday 23 May at 10am 

Interview dates: The first interview is to be held on Thursday 26 May and the second interview with the school is to be confirmed.

This is a fixed term contract until 31st December 2024

We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team and to make a difference in children’s lives every single day. As the Family Support Worker, you will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning. 

You will have excellent relationship building, creative and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people. 

You’ll have previous experience of: 

  • working and engaging with parents, carers or guardians, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
  • working in an educational environment 
  • working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn
  • working with families from diverse communities
