Case Study: The Garfield Weston Foundation

The Garfield Weston Foundation has partnered with School-Home Support for over ten years to improve the life chances of children and young people from disadvantaged families by getting children in school, ready to learn. Grants are unrestricted, meaning they can be directed towards SHS essential core costs without which our work simply couldn’t take place.

The Garfield Weston Foundation supports a broad range of charities across the UK that make a positive difference. A consistent theme of the Foundation since its inception in 1958 has been the importance placed on the support for education, from small local projects such as reading schemes and after school clubs, to major institutions such as universities. We are proud the Foundation has worked with SHS for a number of years, joining us in breaking down barriers to learning for disadvantaged children.

Jaine Stannard, School-Home Support Chief Executive writes:

“We so much appreciate the support of the Garfield Weston Foundation in making our work possible. The last ten years have been extremely challenging, but during this time the Garfield Weston Foundation has made it possible for us to continue to provide support to thousands of families struggling with multiple and complex issues. Thank you for all your support – we couldn’t have done this without you.”
